Cardiac Risk Prevention Program
Just for the Health of It
Workforce Health designed a cardiac risk prevention program for employees at West Bend Mutual Insurance Company based on Froedtert Health’s proven cardiac rehabilitation process. It emphasized goal-setting and measurement, coaching, exercise and diet. After just six months, participants cut heart disease risk factors including weight, cholesterol levels, body mass index and blood pressure.
The statistically significant results from the pilot group of 26 participants were featured in The Business Journal Serving Greater Milwaukee and presented at the 2010 Annual Worksite Wellness Conference in Wisconsin.
