Wheeling for Healing 2012
Riding in Support of Cancer Patients
The streets of Menomonee Falls and Germantown were buzzing on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, as cyclists hit the road in support of the Cancer Care Center at Froedtert Health Community Memorial Hospital. Nearly 1,100 participants enjoyed a perfect summer morning at the 15th annual Wheeling for Healing bike ride, sponsored by Siemens. Riders of all ages gathered early at the hospital to pedal the 4-mile, 15-mile and 32-mile routes. Upon returning to the hospital, riders enjoyed brunch, raffles, children's games and the energizing music of the band No Idea.
Approximately $40,000 was raised for the Cancer Care Center. Thank you to the event's planning committee, sponsors, participants, volunteers, and community support staff, including the Menomonee Falls and Germantown Police Departments. Special thanks to Craig McKee, evening news anchor for WISN TV, for serving as this year's ride marshal.
A total of 36 teams registered for this year's Wheeling for Healing. Thank you to all teams that participated this year. It's never too soon to begin organizing a team for next year.
