Crushed Finger Saved by Team Effort

When Tim Smith suffered a crushing finger accident at work, he was brought to Community Memorial Hospital's Emergency Department, where he was told it may have to be amputated. But thanks to the care he received from Dr. Jane Reid, emergency medicine physician, Dr. Alex Colque, plastic and reconstructive surgeon; Emergency Department staff; ICU nurses; hand therapists and many other medical experts at Community Memorial Hospital and the Froedtert Health system, Tim's finger has healed and is nearly as good as new.

Every year, thousands of husbands, wives, sons, daughters and other loved ones from southeastern Wisconsin are treated at Froedtert Health Community Memorial Hospital Emergency Department. This community safety net operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing critical treatment as a certified Level III Trauma Center.
