The Breast Care Center, located in the Women's Health Center, is a free resource offering a certified breast health specialist who provides support, counseling and information about breast health, disease risk reduction and screening.

Breast Cancer Conferences for Best Treatment Options

To make sure each woman diagnosed with breast cancer has the best possible outcome, a group of specialists who focus on breast cancer meets twice each month to review and discuss treatment options for patients. This breast cancer conference includes Medical College of Wisconsin radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, a breast surgeon, radiologists and other breast cancer experts.

An interdisciplinary collaboration, the meeting is facilitated by our breast care coordinator and increases the level of care we provide to our patients.

    Breast Cancer Genetics

Researchers have identified certain inherited genes that can increase a woman’s risk for having breast cancer. In particular, women who have more than one family member who has been diagnosed with breast or ovarian cancer at a young age may carry these genes. If you would like to learn more about your own genetics, tell your mammogram technologist at your appointment, and our breast care coordinator can refer you to our genetic counselor.

    Breast Cancer Prevention and Detection

All women are at risk for developing breast cancer. The key to surviving breast cancer is early detection.

    Screening and Diagnostic Digital Mammograms

Because the Cancer Care Center is dedicated to early detection of breast disease, the Community Breast Care Center offers diagnostic and screening digital mammography performed by registered mammography technologists.

We use precision digital mammography screening technology, and Soft Touch® — special pads that cushion your breasts during the procedure and make the procedure more comfortable, even if you have sensitive breasts.

For a free informational consultation with our breast care nurse, call 262-257-5015.

    Breast Cancer Support Resources

Look Good ... Feel Better Program

The Look Good… Feel Better program is designed for female cancer patients currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatments.

    Breast Cancer Support Group

The Breast Cancer Support Group meets every fourth Monday of the month. Both women who are receiving treatments and breast cancer survivors meet to hear speakers and share information and support.

    Breast Cancer Team

The Cancer Center is staffed by board-certified physicians from Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin. Additional board-certified physicians from diagnostic radiology are also on staff. In addition, registered mammography technologists and a breast care coordinator are integral members of our staff.

For referral to one of our specialists, call 866-680-0505 or 414-805-0505.
